Airports of London Stansted Airport is farthest from the centre of London, close to 40 miles. The airport is dominated by airlines low budget including Ryanair and easyJet, low cost most major airlines Europe.
The overwhelming majority of flights is European domestic flights or the United Kingdom.
The airport also has significant traffic, particularly for British travellers on Sun packages.
The intercontinental main and carriers such as British Airways, Virgin, us and Singapore Airlines State use London Heathrow or Gatwick airports.
The airport is an established airport but was relaunched a new terminal and infrastructure, including a direct rail link and the motorway London 15 years ago. Initially, it was a white elephant but the emergence of low budget carriers transformed Stansted into one of the airports more growth in Europe over the past decade.
Today, the full capacity of the main terminal belongs to the view and a new terminal and a second runway more is planned.
There are no surprises with the terminal itself, all the standard facilities are in place, including the choice of foreign currency, pharmacies, etc. news stands. There is a good variety of food options ranging from food pub by fast food restaurants and have to sit at the restaurants. In common with all airports managed by the ABA, the owner, there are many luxury purchases from retail outlets. But don't forget, the vast majority of flights from Stansted is within the EEC and are not eligible for duty-free status.
Normally takes about 30 minutes reach exit customs with most flights if you have luggage. There is an immediate airport information desk outside of customs and assistance for AirportCarz have a monopoly on airport taxi services. Taking a taxi in London is only used by a very small minority of passengers due to the distance and expenditure.
If your destination is in London, the quickest option is to take the Stansted Express train. The station is under the terminal you simply go to the platforms by staircases or lifts.
Stansted Express takes 45 minutes from London Liverpool Street Station and runs about every 15 minutes during the day. Last trains are around midnight. Stansted Express rates are high, more than $40 for a single rate of return. Liverpool Street Terminal is also not very convenient for most travellers, being located in the middle of the financial district of London, 3-5 miles from most of the most popular hotel accommodation. The train stops at Tottenham Hale, called intermediate stop 10 minutes Liverpool Street before an Exchange with the London underground (Victoria Line).
Many airlines are selling tickets for Stansted Express some discount before landing at Stansted Airport.
London budget transfer option must take one of four regular National Express and Terravision coach services. There is a large, modern, coach in front of the terminal building, adjacent to the railway station station.
The cheapest option is the Terravision service to Liverpool Street station the same route as the Stansted Express. The price is approximately half of Stansted Express Train. Like all transfers of road base is London traffic on a good day, as the coach he do about an hour. National Express run services on all 30 minutes nearby Stratford Underground at a similar price.
The other route taken by the coaches is Stansted to London Victoria. Have all two rates back approximately $US25. The Terravision service nonstop, National Express service makes judgments by the Centre of London, many of them in the districts of grand hotel. National Express is a service of true 24 x 7, Terravision service stops only for a few hours early in the morning. Some of the higher frequencies are around midnight London Stansted and very early in the morning for the first and last flights London-Stansted where Stansted Express and London underground closed.
Because rates sometimes extraordinarily good markets of Ryanair and easyJet lot of transcontinental passenger found it cheaper to fly in Heathrow and then fill their journey to their European destination for an airline cheap Stansted.
National Express Shuttle services run between Heathrow and Stansted from Stansted coach. There are usually a couple of service time, the journey takes approximately 90 minutes (although the delays on Highway are almost systematic at peak hours). The fare is not cheap. The return fare is approximately $US50. It is cheaper to use indirect National Express service at Stratford and then take the Metro in London to Heathrow, but less comfortable.
If you want to stay at the Stansted airport before a flight there are lot of options. As all the hotels from the airport to London fares are normally much cheaper at the end of week as mid week. If you are in transit from Heathrow or Gatwick have many fierce competition, you probably find more expensive rates at Stansted, particularly in the budget sector.
Immediate proximity of the Terminal is Stansted Radisson SAS, hotel only airport where you do not have a vehicle to transfer luxury hotel. This is perhaps the most luxurious hotel and weekend rates can be quite competitive. The original Hotel at Stansted is 4 star Hotel Hilton on the perimeter of the airport. The Hilton Stansted runs its own shuttle bus station coach on every 30 minutes.
In the immediate vicinity of the airport is an express by Holiday Inn and a Best Western. The least expensive option is Days Inn motorway at the entrance of Stansted Airport services area. It provides no installation transfer airport itself of course there are taxis and a local bus service.
Apart from the strings, there are many independent hotels in the neighbourhood. These hotels for all budgets and tastes, ranging from pubs with traditional country house hotels and lodges feature. The countryside around Stansted is remarkably preserved and there is a possibility to remain in a market town traditional or coaching inn, for example.
